Do you know Webflow? More and more, the no-code CMS is establishing itself as a reference in the world of web development. Thanks to its intuitive site editor based on the concept of drag and drop, it is possible, more than ever, to create designer and efficient websites. At Scroll, we are Webflow specialists: we create and work on our customers' sites using this tool. And in particular, we use a lot one of Webflow's flagship products: Webflow E-commerce. Scroll, theWebflow agency expert, tells you everything about this solution!
What is Webflow E-commerce?
Webflow E-commerce, as its name suggests, is a Webflow product. Released fairly recently, it has continued to improve ever since. Its objective: to help you create e-commerce sites, while maintaining the simplicity of the classic editor that is the added value of the CMS.
Thanks to Webflow E-commerce, you can easily create a conversion tunnel, product pages and integrate Stripe as a payment solution. The number of products to your catalog that can be added to your catalog depends on the Webflow plan to which you have subscribed.
The e-commerce part of Webflow is well thought out: it will allow you to create product feeds for Facebook, Instagram or Google agencies. Mailchimp is also included in all plans: you can therefore automate the sending of emails to your customers, once their order has been placed or to promote new products on your site. A real turnkey solution for online sales!
Our opinion on the Webflow e-commerce plan
What is Webflow E-commerce worth? When CMS like Shopify have long specialized in creating online sales sites, can Webflow establish itself as a reference?
Our opinion at Scroll is that yes. Today, Webflow offers, in its e-commerce product, a whole range of services that allow you to manage your e-commerce part from A to Z. But the real plus is that this e-commerce solution also brings all the power of the classic Webflow site editor, i.e. a much greater possibility of designing and customizing your e-commerce site than with a Shopify site.
If you want to create an e-commerce site, we therefore advise you to use Webflow. For an equivalent price, you will have more features and more power than with other solutions.
Powerful features
Subscribing to Webflow E-commerce in fact means having access not only to the specific functionalities of this product, but also to all the elements of a classic Webflow plan. This therefore gives access to the Webflow drag and drop editor, as well as to the “Site” or “Business” plan. This includes your custom domain name, hosting and securing your site, and the ability to connect APIs to build your web applications on your site.
A wide choice of templates
Like most other CMS, Webflow offers to select site templates from which to work. By launching its e-commerce product, Webflow has also made sure to release templates adapted to online stores. Some are free, others are chargeable. The choice is very wide, even if it is perhaps a little less extensive than for Wordpress or Shopify given the youth of the product.
While this may be a defect for some, it is not the case at Scroll: we create our customers' websites ourselves, and we therefore do not use pre-designed templates.
Webflow E-commerce: plans and pricing
Webflow E-commerce offers 3 plans, at different rates: Standard, Plus and Advanced. All plans come with the features we mentioned above. The difference is made in sales and product volumes. Transaction fees also vary from plan to plan.
Standard plan — $29/month
The Webflow E-commerce Standard plan allows you to build a store with up to 500 products. You can also sell up to $50,000 worth of merchandise per year. So it's a very reasonable rate, at $29 per month. On the other hand, you will have to count 2% transaction fees for each sale. It is therefore a rate that is suitable for small shops. As soon as you have more sales volume, we recommend that you upgrade to the Plus plan. The pricing for this plan is the same as the pricing for the basic Shopify plan.
Plus plan — $74/month
The Webflow e-commerce Plus plan will allow you to add up to 1,000 products to your catalog, and reach $200,000 in sales over the year via your site. The big advantage of this plan is the elimination of transaction fees: it is therefore a rate that should be seriously considered as soon as your site generates a certain quantity of sales. Shopify also offers an equivalent higher plan, for a rate of $79 per month, but which will also cost you 1% transaction fees for each sale. Webflow is therefore emerging as a more powerful and more economical alternative.
Advanced plan — $212/month
The Advanced plan is reserved for the largest e-commerce sites. You can add up to 3,000 products to your store. You don't have a sales limit on this plan. You won't have any transaction fees either. An expensive price, therefore, but very interesting for the most important sites.
Shopify's latest plan, for example, will cost you 299% per month, with 0.5% transaction fees.
Webflow E-commerce: a lower price than other solutions on the market
Webflow E-commerce is therefore a powerful solution that is more flexible than its direct competitors. Although the price of the no-code tool is generally the same for small or medium-sized shops, Webflow E-commerce is very interesting, especially for the largest e-commerce sites.
